I thought it would be interesting to share the visual experience of flying in a Cessna 172, but this time from the wing of the aircraft. This is a limited cut 30 minute flight around the local area of Gloucestershire airport, flying out over towards Pershore, then Droitwich Spa, Worcester and back via Tewkesbury before coming back to land. If you mean this particular Jackery battery pack when you say this "thing", the answer is know as it only has a 500w inverter. If you want to run a 1500 watt heater for 8 hours, I would recommend a 2kW inverter and a 12kW / 1000Ah battery storage.

    Hi dale I had a few questions, you might have covered this in another video but 1) how long did it take for you to complete all 9 theory exams? At what point into the start of your theory learning did you feel prepared to do the first exam 2)Were you learning each subject in small chunks or would you completely finish one subject first and then move onto the next? (Eg air law and op procedures studied at the same time?) 3)Did you use easypplground school more than the pooley books?? 4) what subject did you find the most hardest, I’ve heard that navigation is a little tough Thank you so much

    • @SpectrumGeeks
      @SpectrumGeeks 10 дней назад

      I have covered most of these in the other flying videos so I encourage you to check them out (ruclips.net/p/PL8POksoVbmSzOrfTD41LQzCblYTgtEs8J), but will answer in brief below: 1) I started my ground school study on the 6th November 2021 and passed the last exam on 3rd March 2023 I believe. I felt prepared to do the first exam when I was consistently getting 80% or more on the EasyPPL tests. 2) I studied one subject at a time in general, but I did do Air Law and Operational Procedure exams at the same time. Some subjects have some overlap, but my school wanted the exams done in a specific order. 3) I started off with using Pooleys books and EasyPPL, but I think after the 3rd exam I went pretty much exclusively to EasyPPL. 4) Flight Performance and Planning was the exam I found the hardest, I did well on the Navigation exam, but I did spend a fair bit of time studying that one. I did also find meteorology trickier than I expected. Hope this helps.

    Wondering what is the point of it or the IHD for that matter. You use what you use. The same with smart meters, never seen the point in them unless you have solar panels and send excess energy onto the grid.

    • @SpectrumGeeks
      @SpectrumGeeks 18 дней назад

      Its handy if you like to track your usage, as well as understanding how much energy you are actually using. I also have a Givenergy battery and Octopus Intelligent Go rate. I do fill up the battery at 7.5p and discharge to grid at 15p. Yes you are benefitting the grid ad well as yourself. You are helping to balance the grid by contributing to refuce the use of gas during the day and then consuming excess renewable electricity st night. There are heavy penalties levied when curtailment of renewable energy generation is nevessary, which is more likely to ocurr at night. In my area we also have frequent Octopus Powerup sessions when all electricity is free, and thst is also to help reduce curtailment penslties, mostly during high wind conditions.

    I charge overnight and sell back more in the day, simply because grid is much lower in CO2 overnight. So there’s net benefit if I buy at 50g/kwh and sell and 100g/kwh. Don’t discharge batteries to sell back yet however.

      Cheers for sharing. I think it makes alot of sense to utilise the off peak for charging, etc (I charge the cars and heat hot water off peak), and then export the "excess", as that seems a natural set of events, vs playing the system abit with off peak charge and peak discharge. However, like another commenter, it must be in the grids benefit or it wouldn't be a thing.

    Surely your helping the grid or they wouldn’t give you the charge/discharge rates. Make hay I say, battery’s should be good for it and warranted for the cycles too.

    Great video! I'm 7 out of 9 exams passed and just soloed. Can't wait to be confident enough to XC solo :)

    Shame on you, at your age you should know better. You do know that riding these things in public places is illegal.

      Thanks for sharing your opinion. At the time the video was recorded it was less prevalent for the communication of the legalities of these scooters on the road, and I had passed many police officers whilst on the scooter without issue. However, since then the communication on where they can be used has been better communicated and enforcement of the law has strengthen, and in reviews since I had made this clear.
